Our client is a professional Food organization, based in Germany.
My client is a distributor of food ingredients in China. Long established and family owned they work with an impressive number of partners across the world. They are currently looking for a Portfolio Development Manager.
The Portfolio Development Manager drives the initiation, definition, planning, development, execution/implementation, monitoring, review, continuous improvement as well as the administration of portfolio & product management, strategic & operational marketing as well as business development initiatives. He/ she reports directly to the General Manager of the BU, has a dotted line to the Head of Business Development of the company and works closely together with all Business related managers and functions.
THE POSITION IS LOCATED IN CHINA - SHANGHAI.
•Develop strategic own brand business and marketing plan in BU sectors and manage execution within budget, time, legal/ compliance frame and within group guidelines and agreed requirements with other key stakeholders.
•Identify & prioritize key growth areas within or close to the scope of an existing business in order to prepare the implementation plan and upon the agreement of this plan, manage the implementation along the defined quality, milestones, cost and timelines.
•Screen & propose target for partnering, acquisition or JV and manage stage gate process as well as incubation execution.
•Ensure availability & quality of up to date market intelligence (eg. Value chain analysis, Market size, market shares, relevant macro & micro trends, technology, Peers/ competitors, suppliers, customers and other influencing factors)
•Develop and maintain close relationship to the stakeholders of the industry including suppliers, customers and partners.
•Identify, evaluate, prepare and negotiate contracts eg. Suppliers, principals, business partners.
•Develop Sales-, Service- & Marketing plans, support & coordinate marketing & promotion delivery
•Budget planning and management
Knowledge and Skills:
•Thorough understanding of applied food safety regulations & related quality standards in China
•Good understanding of business practices in the Chinese food additive industries
•Solid experience in raw materials processing on an industrial scale
•Self-motivated and work independently to achieve agreed objectives and milestones
•Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, planning, time management and budgeting skills
•High level of integrity and personal character, Energetic and positive attitude with innovative mindset
•Bachelor or above in Nutritional Sciene or BioChemistry or Food Techology.
•Business Management/ Development/ Administration, Marketing, Strategic Management or related discipline
•Proficient in written & oral English & Mandarin Chinese
•At least 5 years in managerial or BD role
